Sewer & Drain Backup Service, 24 Hours a Day

Sewage or dirty water coming up through floor drains, tubs, or toilets? We find what's blocking the line and clear it, day or night.

A backup is one of the most stressful plumbing problems because it can damage floors and belongings and it is unsanitary. We locate the blockage that's pushing water back into the building, clear it, and test the line so you can use your plumbing again.

When to call us

  • Sewage or dirty water coming up through a floor drain, tub, or shower
  • Toilets overflowing or refusing to flush
  • Water appearing in one fixture when another is used
  • Strong sewer smell inside the building
  • Water pooling around the outdoor cleanout

What to do while you wait for us

  1. Stop using water. Every flush, shower, or load of laundry adds to the backup.
  2. Keep people and pets away from sewage. It carries bacteria.
  3. Turn off appliances that drain automatically, such as the washer, dishwasher, or ice maker drain.
  4. If water is near outlets or electrical equipment, stay out of the area and contact your power provider if needed.
  5. Take photos for your insurance company before cleanup starts.

Finding where the backup starts

Where the water shows up tells us a lot. If only one fixture is affected, the clog is likely in that branch line. If water rises in the lowest drain in the house, usually a basement floor drain or a ground-floor shower, when other fixtures are used, the main sewer line is probably blocked. We clear the line from the most practical access point, often the outdoor cleanout.

After the line is clear

Once water is flowing, we'll tell you what caused the backup if we can identify it: roots, grease, wipes, or a damaged section of pipe. If it's likely to happen again, we'll explain your options, from routine sewer line cleaning to repairing the damaged section.

What to expect

  1. Call or text us

Tell us where the water is coming up and which fixtures are affected.

  2. Locate the blockage

We identify whether it's a branch line or the main sewer line.

  3. Clear the line

We open the blockage from the best access point.

  4. Confirm and advise

We test the line and explain what caused the backup.

Tips to prevent problems

  • Never flush wipes, paper towels, or hygiene products
  • Keep grease out of kitchen drains
  • Have roots cleared before they block the line completely
  • Ask us about a backwater valve if your home has had repeated backups

Frequently asked questions

Is a sewer backup an emergency?

It can be. Sewage indoors is a health hazard, and water damage gets worse with time. We're open 24 hours, so call as soon as you notice it and stop using water until the line is clear.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover a sewer backup?

It depends on your policy. Many policies need a separate sewer backup endorsement. Take photos and contact your insurer. We can describe what we found and the work we did.

Why did the backup come up in my basement floor drain?

Water finds the lowest opening. When the main line is blocked, wastewater from upstairs fixtures rises out of the lowest drain in the building.
